The 2027 Yamaha XSR900 GP brings the golden era of Grand Prix motorcycle racing to the modern road, combining authentic race-inspired styling with advanced engineering and thrilling three-cylinder performance. As the flagship of Yamaha’s Sport Heritage range, the XSR900 GP captures the character of legendary 1980s racing machines while delivering the technology, precision and refinement expected from a modern sports motorcycle.

For 2027, the XSR900 GP introduces the spectacular Legend Blue colour scheme, paying tribute to French Grand Prix racer Christian Sarron and his championship-winning Sonauto Yamaha. Featuring deep blue bodywork, light blue Yamaha speedblock graphics, striking yellow stripes and classic yellow racing number plates on the front fairing and seat cowl, the XSR900 GP celebrates one of Yamaha’s most recognisable racing liveries. The popular Legend Yellow colour scheme also continues.

At its heart is Yamaha’s high-torque 890cc CP3 three-cylinder engine, delivering responsive acceleration and exhilarating performance. A lightweight Deltabox-style chassis, premium fully adjustable KYB suspension and Spinforged wheels provide precise handling and cornering confidence. Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S23 tyres further complement the motorcycle’s sporty character.

Unlike the standard XSR900, the GP features a distinctive retro racing front fairing, raised clip-on handlebars and a more forward-focused riding position for increased front-end feedback. A 5-inch full-colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity, Yamaha Ride Control, six-axis IMU and third-generation Quick Shift System combine advanced technology with classic racing character.

Completing the package are cruise control, an Assist & Slipper clutch and a removable rear seat cowl, creating a motorcycle that delivers an exciting sports riding experience without sacrificing everyday usability.
